Paint the Funk Out! – 1 afternoon – 3 hours

When we Paint the Funk Out we use active acrylic painting techniques and create art with intentional, personal meaning. The process metabolizes our emotions and empowers us to use creativity for health. Sometimes, it is time to be still, for the other times… Paint the Funk Out! Shelley Irish teaches straightforward painting techniques complemented by creative self-care exercises to give you a unique learning experience.

Class fee is $50 for 3 hours of instruction.

Acrylic paint: black, white, and your 3 favorite colors

Canvas: your choice, but no smaller than 16” x 20”. If you like symmetry, a square canvas will give you the best results for this class.

What symbolizes the love in your life, what color is it, how does it move and feel? Learn how to paint it out on canvas and into your heart. Meditative Painting – 1 evening – 1.5 hours

Slow down and push paint around. We learn techniques to focus on being in the moment with the painting process. The workshop starts with a simple meditation and continues into painting with a quiet mind. Our paint colors, brushstrokes and composition play second fiddle to painting in a way that makes your body feel good and your mind rest. Shelley Irish teaches straightforward painting techniques complemented by creative self-care exercises to give you a unique learning experience.

Class fee is $25 for 1.5 hours of instruction.

Angel Painting – 11 weeks – 33 hours

Do angels swirl around you? Let’s paint them! We focus on figure, portrait, wings and fabric. In this 11 week class we take influence from Rubens paintings and create angels that are so luminous they looks like they were fed on a diet of roses. I will show you my watermelon formula for flesh and parfait code for wings. This class is designed for those with some painting experience. I teach straightforward painting techniques complemented by creative self-care exercises to give you a unique learning experience.

Materials: 

Oil paint: black, white, terra rosa and yellow ochre. Other colors are incorporated once you have decided on what you will paint.
