Reflections of an Artistic Mystic

Shelley Irish, 7/24/19

I had a steady progress type of week. I took a bunch of new product photos, worked on my Etsy store, and am finishing my We’Moon submission today.

As I was photographing my new painting, Narayani Moon, this afternoon, I stood by my piano, my camera and my art. Using this camera, I took pics of Rob Zombie a few years ago at a metal fest, playing my piano, I have shared the stage with some of my favorite bands, and for this painting, I listened to a sacred chant the whole time I painted it.

Music and other arts are a huge part of my enjoyment as a human and satisfaction as an artist. Painting is very still and focused, with me generally listening to music without lyrics, while playing piano and hunting for the star shot is very active. I found myself standing in the center of these three things and it felt like a vortex for a second. The hunger of my artistic soul is quenched in so many ways. 💫

I have 2 days off in a row for the first time in a long time tomorrow and Fri. Yes!!!! On Saturday I’ll be at Rainbow doing oracle readings and an Oracle Card class at Moonrise later that afternoon. It’s a super nice week. 💓

Have a great rest of the week,

Shelley
